Civilian Faction Question

by Reinhardt64 » 26 Feb 2014, 05:07

So it's already been stated that players belonging to the warring factions will be able to "purchase" npcs to patrol and protect their assets against opposing factions. Will the civilians have anything like this? Like a police/security force that will patrol the trade lanes against pirates but will ignore the galactic superpowers? Or will civilians have to rely on the warring factions' npcs/other players to keep the trade lanes clear?

There will be no free ride police force. As a civilian, you gotta balance your allegiances. It'll be quite difficult to remain completely neutral.

Ahh, I gotcha. So the civilians aren't just generic neutral pilots trading between the factions. They're the citizens of the various super powers doing the internal trading.

Speaking of "neutral" faction, what about the bounty hunter and the PVP bounty hunting ?

If a player hire a bounty hunter to kill another player, how the customer can know the target has been killed ?

Because the bounty hunter can lie to is customer.

I plan to rebuild on Freeworld with some friend my bounty hunting agency i have build on SWG, the Kiss 'n' kill agency, so if the customer dosen't have the tool to check the progress of each bounty mission, i don't know if there will be a lot of customer.

One can just look at the server kill logs. Qi might be able to provide a more streamlined interface for that, but that's not something I want to promise until we actually have a beta out.

Not only that, but this is meant to be somewhat realistic. What's wrong with a bounty hunter lying? It's a business practice as any other, and if their clients find out...

Ah ah good point, indead even in SWG the bounty hunter could negotiate a deal with the target.

The target could let the bunty hunter kill him, once done, every customer receive a pop-up message indicating the elimination of the target and the bounty hunter receive automatically the money from the bounty, money that can then be shared with the target if the bounty hunter had a deal with the target.

Other online freelancer bounty-hunting systems simply use time-stamped screenshots of the kill message and it seems to work well, to include your suggested shady RP'd loopholes and negotiations. That's assuming this mod will keep the kill messages. I think a sexier/pricier BH guild would use videos/screenshots of the engagement, especially if the posted bounties are more creative, i.e.: "Eliminate the target while in the presence of individual X, or in Y system, while he/she is in Z ship, or while he/she is attempting karaoke on the holonet"

To Reinhard, you can expect plenty of friendly and legal "inspections" from myself and my Imperial brethren. Your safety is our number one concern! Completely unrelated, but I personally prefer http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Muon_Gold ;)

Sadly for the empire, but in his history (on SWG) the kiss 'n' kill agency as always worked with the rebel alliance ;) .

We also plan to expand our field of activity to the escort, piracy, raid and of course bounty hunting.

In Freeworld, the agency will not be a part of the new republic faction and we plan to open the business with the Hutt and Corellian faction, but our natural ally is the new republic and our natural enemy is the empire.

So the agency will not accept contract going against the interests of the new republic.

Hello.
I just joined and I am a little lost on one point about the Independents...
Is it me or there is no user group in the forum for them?
Do we have to be Independent In-Game but choose a faction on the forum?
