Kohrin, the bastard son

by nanobot1100 » 05 May 2014, 04:00

Name: Jacob Kohrin
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Age: 27
Homeworld: N/A

Occupation: Galactic Empire

Physical appearance:Due to his circumstances Kohrin appears much older than he really is with deep lines on his face and visibly dark rings under his eyes. He is of average height and is fairly slim although visibly built. He has a bald head and a fairly well kept beard though it has visible grey streaks running through it. When he speaks to people you may notice him keeping his left side of his face away from the person he is speaking to due to scarring done courtesy of his fathers legitimate son.

Personal history:Jacob Kohrin grew up on his fathers ship the Enforcer, never knowing who his mother truly was as his father would never tell him whenever the question arose. during his early years on his fathers ship he was forced to become all to familiar with all of the back access ports and service ways as he often had to avoid his fathers legitimate son Andrew who would do everything in his power to beat him and put him down due to the fact that their father always seemed to favor Jacob in private which served to enrage Andrew. Even though their father favored Jacob he would never be able to aspire to the same level as his father due to the fact that his father would never be able to command the same respect were he to show favor towards, and allow a bastard to follow in his footsteps so long as he had a legitimate son who could otherwise do so.

Kohrin had to work for everything he earned and slowly earned more and more responsibilities on his fathers ship, and trained as hard as he could while still taking the beatings from his brother until one day he fought back and for once it was not him but his brother that left bruised and bloodied. Upon hearing of this news his father had no choice in his next course of action as he could not be heard to openly allow his bastard son to beat his only legitimate son who would one day follow in his footsteps or else his son would never be able to command respect among the fleet. And so it was with a heavy heart that his father had no choice but to force Jacob from the fleet.

Shortly after he left his fathers fleet he received news of a tragedy during a battle near Bespin in which his brother and father both died. With his brother and father both dead a stranger who's name Jacob did not know assumed command of the fleet and refused to allow Jacob to return as he feared that Jacob would take command of the fleet from him. With this knowledge he vowed that one day he would command enough power that he could retake his fathers ship by any means necessary.

During the years following his being exiled from his fathers fleet and the tragedy that followed, Jacob got hired on by a mercenary company in which he excelled and rose through the ranks quickly proving that he had a mind for strategy and piloting. His quick progression through the ranks did not sit well with everyone though. One day on a fairly normal mission chasing after an escaped convict into an asteroid field where visibility was severely limited, several of his fellow 'comrades' turned on him and attempted to destroy his ship. Jacob was barley able to survive the encounter, destroying the ships that were trying to kill him but at great cost to his own ship. With his main power destroyed and the backup power functioning just well enough to keep only the basic life support systems running. Floating helpless in space unable to call even for rescue, Jacob was sure he would die there alone and betrayed by those he had called his friends. It was then that he noticed a light off in the distance that seemed to be slowly making it's way towards him, a Galactic Empire patrol had found him, and so he allowed himself to be rescued, not that he would have had much of a choice anyways.

After being picked up by the Empire patrol he was taken back to one of their outposts where he was interrogated about what he had been doing there, and after giving his story it was determined that he would be taken back to the nearest civilian outpost to be released. Just before he was to board the ship to leave however, the outposts commander approached him and made him an offer to join the Galactic Empire, Jacobs first reaction was to say no but he hesitated when he saw something in the man's eyes that he could not quite explain and found himself saying yes to his offer.

It is here where Jacob Kohrin's story truly begins......

Hey Nanobot,

Before approval there are some points in your character profile that need a bit of clarification:

-Is Enforcer an Imperial vessel? If so, the portrayal of a father raising/housing his two sons and promoting one (or both) to a command position is unlikely. Imperial vessels typically have no civilians on board, and promotions are handed down by military brass rather than a ship's commander.

-Beyond the Enforcer it would be helpful if you included some more concrete details about Kohrin's personality and skills beyond his sibling rivalry and the contentious relationship with his father (which is fine, but that can't be all there is to him).

If you have questions or need suggestions, just ask here or send me a PM!
Blame DarkForce, he wasn't clear about it.
