Patch 69

  • Fixed fighter guns not depressing
  • Adjusted freighter quads for higher accuracy
  • Reduced E-Wing hull by 500 points
  • Nerfed Z-95 and TIE Interceptor energy so they cannot fire blasters indefinitely
  • BSY I-1 through I-7 now sell starfighter respawns
  • Fixed shuttle multipliers so proton torps do the proper amount of damage
  • Fixed assault shuttle multipliers so proton torps do the proper amount of damage

  • Changed jump vector appearance slightly
  • New UI elements show up while docked again
  • Chat is now usable while dead
  • Docking range has been increased to 20k
  • Docking time now varies according to the distance of the player’s ship from the destination docking point
  • Health and shield values are properly updated when logging into space and other such edge cases
  • Collisions are now re-enabled across the board and have been changed significantly
    • Collision damage is now symmetrical: both players (or player and NPC!) get damaged for each collision event
    • Collision damage scales according to ship size, so a small ship hitting a big ship will deal less damage
    • Collision damage onto shields will overflow onto hull if the shield does not fully absorb all damage

Kalis’s Log

  • Added NR/GE/Civilian missions to several systems
  • Universal capitals now available for purchase at Kuat
  • Interceptor Frigate now available for purchase at select pirate bases
  • Rebalanced fighter ordnance (useful versus shields now!)
  • Standardized fighter mass
  • Rebalanced fighter afterburners
  • Hyperdrive range/calculation/cooldown rebalance
  • Added assault and combat shuttle respawns for carriers
  • Fixed missile/CM related server crash

FriendlyFire’s Log

  • Fixed countermeasures having no mass and thus crashing the server
  • Capital ships can no longer take missions (will auto-fail)
  • Collision damage is now based off the smallest of the two masses involved in the collision with a non-linear relationship so larger ships take comparatively less damage
  • Collision damage is now accurately applied to both objects in the collision
  • Collisions deal no damage if an invulnerable ship is involved
  • Fixed potential bug with hyperspace jumps
  • Ships are more reliably invincible while jumping to prevent deaths while jumping in or out

  • Message timers are properly restored after alt-tabbing
  • Relaxed landing path shape to try to avoid overly sharp turns
  • Messages should probably get refreshed when a new message is added or removed
  • Messages are cleared on launch, dock and when changing characters or leaving the server
  • OS cursor should now be hidden at all times in windowed mode
  • Max cruise stage (4x) now prevents all weapons from firing

Kalis’s Log

  • Increased cost of E-Wing from 185,000 to 200,000
  • Increased cost of Cloakshape from 60,000 to 83,000
  • K-Wing’s quad acts like a regular turret now (doesn’t need single fire to work)
  • All fighter roll speeds adjusted
  • Assault Shuttle, Shuttle, and Transport shields halved
  • Decimators and Nova Couriers can now equip mag-pulses
  • Respawn commodities now have mass
  • Capital mass standardized to prevent unwanted collision results
  • Assault shuttle mass standardized
  • All freighter masses standardized based on cargo capacity
  • Completely filling up a freighter will cut its reaction time drastically, while an empty freighter is comparatively agile
  • Crashing an empty bulker into a capital is no longer fatal for the capital
  • Ordnance prices adjusted, launchers themselves now cost money (because I’m evil)
  • Modular CM Droppers (Standard or Rapid-Fire)
  • A-Wing given special non-modular Angel Flare (4K range, 99% effectiveness)

  • Reverted some Awesomium changes due to odd compatibility issues at certain resolutions
  • Fixed issue with Awesomium mouse updates causing severe FPS drops; expect a 10-20 fps gain on average!
  • UI scaling has been significantly improved
  • Reduced chromatic aberration on the UI
  • Missiles send their position/orientation updates less often but more systematically

Bug Fixes/Complaint Management

  • Hyperspace tunnel length cut in half
  • Fixed missions in Borleias spawning really far out on the edge of the system
  • Fixed A-Wing only being able to mount blasters
  • Fixed damage multipliers on bulk freighter shields

Rebalance

  • Rebalanced weapons
  • Rebalanced starfighter energy
  • Adjusted NPC and starter loadouts
  • Weapons now cost money (evil laughter)
  • Ordnance costs adjusted (more evil laughter)
  • Removed generic purple lasers to make Disruptors easily identifiable (still in game files so ships mounting them aren’t broken, but expect their eventual complete removal)
  • Bombs have no almost muzzle velocity, they will only go slightly faster than the ship firing them
  • Replaced starter IRD Authority (Interceptor) with Cloakshape (Superiority Fighter)

New Toys err... Content

  • Escort Lasers (Extended range at cost of DPS)
  • Repeating Lasers (High rate of fire at cost of energy efficiency and range)
  • Disruptors (Only available on pirate bases)
  • Extra note: Disruptors are considered highly illegal by the New Republic, the Empire, and CorSec so unless you like being shot at by above governments don’t use them in their space. (Pirates feel free to go nuts).
  • Spread Bombs (low damage but huge blast, good for killing hardpoints)
  • Shieldbuster Torpedo (does exactly what you think it does)
  • Diamond Boron launchers re-added (can swap ACM launchers for them, excellent anti-fighter but massive money-sink)

FriendlyFire’s Log

  • Added mass to stuff that was missing mass, namely certain loot crates, which should hopefully eliminate the remaining server crashes related to that
  • Mass and handling are reset to default while in hyperspace, normalizing handling across the board properly
  • Only cargo mass is counted for handling effects (equipped items’ mass do not count)
  • Redesigned handling updates to use a much smaller time step and added checks to prevent wobble from drag; this should fix certain jumps failing apparently at random

  • Added some tentative crash catching/logging for latest server-side issue.
  • Further improved precision of handling, making all ships turn at their correct rates and reducing turning dead zone on larger ships

  • Added SMAA support with four presets
  • Added new sharpening filter
  • Starsphere reflections are slightly darker
  • Thrusters no longer provide thrust in hyperspace
  • Fixed missing costume for one of the pirate starting characters
  • Fixed some asteroid fields attempting to spawn a non-existent loot container
  • Removed all of the cargo containers in Kuat that caused massive FPS drops
  • Removed unused references to Kessel in files

Patch 76

Kalis's Log
  • Starfighter maneuverability rebalanced
    • All fighters moved closer to the average (extra maneuverable fighters are less maneuverable, bombers and pat boats are more maneuverable)
    • Pitch and yaw differential changed to +3.75 and -2.5
    • Skipray now yaws harder than it pitches
  • Shields redone
    • Token shields rework, regen dropped by 10shp/s and rebuild time increased to 7s from 3.5s
    • Affects TIE Fighter, TIE Bomber, A-9 Vigilance, Scyk, and TYE-Wing
    • B-Wing shields nerfed until better solution to hitbox can be found (4000 shp and 80shp/s from 8000shp and 160shp/s)
    • Interceptor type starfighters shield regen time increased
    • TIE Interceptor shield regen cut in half (before I get Imp complaints, it was supposed to be like this but there was a miscalculation)
    • Fixed improper damage modifier values on shuttle and transport shields
  • Heavily armed advanced fighters rebalanced
    • TIE/D, Toscan, and Vornskr energy nerfed (can technically support 2 less assaults)
    • TIE Defender repurposed, maneuverability is now average (X-Wing equiv), shield regen buffed to standard, afterburner +120m/s. Good for BnZ tactics.
    • TIE Defender cost dropped from 300,000 to 250,000
  • Miscellaneous
    • CC7700 Combat Frigate cost dropped from 18M to 14M
    • Resources redistributed to be more fair for stockpiling
    • Ion cannon damage reduced 20% across board
    • Updated capital (heavy) quads
    • Heavy Quad energy consumption is very high, recommend turning them off when using turbolasers

  • Removed extra power generators from the remaining few erroneous ships that had them, including NPCs
  • Removed all explosions from starfighters to try to fix crash on explosion bugs
