Mag/ion pulses use whichever key is mapped to "cruise disruptor" in your settings. Tractor beams are capital weapons that fire like any other gun.

shouldnt a tractor beam be able to hold a smaller ship in place or pull it to you so you can pound it into spacedust. Or is that to difficult to code or make the ai go beserk, i imagine to ai would be worse than when they try to use engine kill.

Tractor beams as you describe do not exist in Freelancer.
