I'd love to see the resource based cap-construction stay.
It's just the voice of one single, non active player but it feels just right.
(maybe cus without, trading seems to be reduced to money farming without any player interaction (piracy and escorts aside))



Player with much time, simply collect the resources by themselves
Rich player order (player)Traders to collect them. (maybe a contract with a player[clan/faction] controlled Shipyard)
And those who got the most, simply "buy" the resources from (imaginary)NPC traders.


The RPs could be worth x for the faction they belong to. Using them to buy resources from them.


I understand the reason for RPs but if there is any chance, I'd prefer $ and cap-construction

A lot of people like the idea of RP points for little mini events, but don't like it being for a single person. They like the current system of a faction wide effort. Perhaps RP points could go towards a total pool for the person's faction? Maybe you could also tie this to the influence system? Random ideas.

The primary Fleets will have that ability, smaller squadrons and task groups made by players wont. If I remember my discussion with the devs

Every player will get the RPs, not just one. As Rogue mentions, large groups within factions will have the ability to pool points (though at a reduced efficiency versus keeping them on individual accounts), but that's as far as we're going with this.

FriendlyFire, your reply hints that player groups in a faction other than the "Primary Fleet" will be able to pool points as well. Did I understand that right? If so, what are you guys thinking as the minimum number of members required for this?

We don't have fixed numbers in mind, since we don't know just how many players will be around. What's likely to happen is that we're going to put in place tiers (how many tiers also depends on the number of players, but at least 4 tiers for squadron, fleet, sector fleet, primary fleet), with the bottom tiers (squadron and fleet) not having access and then higher tiers having access with progressively smaller pooling penalties.

With the pooling system, will there be a mechanism in place for the player groups that have access to pooling to set "Taxes"? Basically setting member periodic RP point assignment to the group's RP pool in an automatic way?

Also, is it possible to set a similar system up for the money system as well?

No. The idea is that it's an additional system for you guys to use, but I still consider it to be voluntary, so if you want to make it forced, you'd have to enforce it yourselves.

Once the system is in place, we can see about adding more to it, but right now manpower is too short to start piling stuff on top. KISS is the rule here.
