Would like some rule clarification

by Loken » 14 May 2014, 17:07

You may not use Corporate or Civilian characters to circumvent Main character standings - e.g. A Hutt member may not use a SoroSuub alt to make money for the Hutts. That member may still have that alt, but any money that exchanges hands between that character and his main or fellow main faction members must be justified. Else, this is considered metagaming.

I'm assuming this also applies to suppling stockpiles with materials as well? (Particularly when materials are sold in hostile territories.) This is going on quite a bit at the moment and as I understand things it shouldn't be allowed. Can I get some clarification to be sure?

Hiring a faction is another matter.

I'm talking about people using alt characters with civilian reputation, not hiring factions.

Plain civilian reputation is fine too, but it has to be played as such - they have to use funds generated by that character only and can't pay back into the faction in any way. I.E. - money from that character cannot be sent to the faction account to pay for stockpiles, or sent to other accounts to fund military characters.

What about the other way around?
E.g.
I make a CIV-Char with a run-down YT-1300 (crappy ship!).
Now I send him 1 million from my GE-player-bank account to buy a better ship and trade more stuff (stockpiles).

I could say I "hired" him for that 1 mill, is that within the rules?

Only if services are actually rendered. I know this is rather unenforceable, and if we need to, we will make a strict no transfer rule, but for now we'll be giving you the latitude to not break the rules.
